A survey commissioned by Intuit, the global leader in small business financial management solutions,
reveals that cloud-based technology is allowing small business owners to enjoy the holiday season without taking an eye off their businesses.
Despite business owners spending a third of their working lives on dull administration tasks, it is often menial tasks such as these which restrict many business owners from feeling they have the time and freedom to enjoy a holiday during the holiday season.
The survey, which was conducted with 750 Australian small business owners, also revealed that 77% of business owners recognised a benefit in being able to access their files remotely, with one third reporting that it would be a major benefit to them whilst enjoying a holiday.
Tools such as Intuit’s cloud-based accounting software allow small business owners a greater flexibility in the way they run their business, which is creating opportunities for business owners to reclaim their lives.
Erick Zegeer, Cairns resident and owner of Echo Zulu SEO Services, is one such person who has already recognised the value of cloud based technology. Erick, who recently travelled to the United States for Christmas, says that he used QuickBooks Online whilst on holiday in order to continue business operations whilst abroad.
Mr. Zegeer said, “The fact that I can log in and manage my business finances from anywhere allows me greater flexibility and an opportunity to enjoy a holiday overseas without worrying about my business. Whilst enjoying the holidays in the USA I was able to send invoices, perform bank reconciliations and even do my BAS.”
Nora Tucker, Product Manager for Intuit Australia, said the recently launched QuickBooks Online software was designed to help Australian small businesses confidently run their business from anywhere, at any time.
“Every day we speak to more and more small business owners like Mr. Zegeer who tell us the same thing – cloud based technology really does save you time and give you more freedom,” she said.
